SPECIAL DISTRICT 6 ELECTION
Lesson in Three E's: Electronic, Early, and Easy

A special District 6 election kick-off is scheduled for Monday, March 19th, at
10:00 a.m., at the Eastmont Mall. Topping the agenda is a demonstration of new electronic voting equipment. Brad Clark, Alameda County Registrar of Voters, and Ceda Floyd, Oakland City Clerk, will explain the special election and detail early voting information. District 2 Council Member Danny Wan, chair of the Special Election Task Force, along with City Attorney John Russo and Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley, will talk about alternative voting methods and demonstrate a new electronic voting machine, which will be used by early voters. In addition, provisional voting will be allowed for the first time, which means one can register to vote and vote on the same day.

The Eastmont Mall is located at 73rd and Bancroft Avenues. The demonstration will take place in Suite 263.
