City Attorney John Russo has launched three important community initiatives
in fulfillment of his public commitment to provide Oakland citizens with
greater access to city government, enhanced legal services at the neighborhood
level, and more information about keeping our children safe. These initiatives
serve as the cornerstone of a City Attorney’s Office dedicated to
serving the community and accountable to those we are serving.
Open Government Program
It is the government’s job to conduct the people’s business
for the people. This program is designed to preserve the public’s
right to information about city government and enhance the opportunity
for community participation in local decision making. more
