The Oakland City Attorney’s Office consists of three legal divisions, an Operations Division and an Executive Team headed by City Attorney Ryan Richardson.
Overseen by Chief Assistant City Attorney Amber Macaulay, the Advisory Division provides advice and counsel on a broad range of issues to other City of Oakland agencies, including:
Under the leadership of Chief Assistant City Attorney Maria Bee, the Litigation Division manages affirmative litigation brought by the Oakland City Attorney’s Office against outside actors and responds to litigation matters brought against the City of Oakland.
Under the supervision of COO Dara Wiseman, the Operations Team ensures the Office of the City Attorney is run efficiently and effectively to the benefit of City of Oakland staff and all City residents.
