Caryl Casden is a Senior Deputy City Attorney in the Labor & Employment Unit of the Advisory Division. Ms. Casden advises clients on a wide range of labor and employment-related matters and has represented the City in numerous arbitration and other hearings.
Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office in 2006, Ms. Casden served as an Assistant Counsel in the General Counsel’s Office of the National Treasury Employees Union where she litigated cases involving federal labor, administrative and constitutional issues. Ms. Casden began her legal career as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, conducting trial level litigation focusing on enforcement of federal wage and hour and workplace safety laws.
Ms. Casden earned her law degree from the American University, Washington College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College.
