Elizabeth Ferrel serves as Executive Assistant to Chief Assistant City Attorneys Maria Bee (Litigation Division) and Ryan Richardson (Advisory Division). She provides secretarial, administrative and executive–level support of the Chief Assistant City Attorneys. Elizabeth plays an integral role in preparing closed session agendas and performing other closed session– related tasks, formatting resolutions and ordinances, and serving as a back–up to the Executive Assistant to the City Attorney.
Elizabeth’s journey with the Oakland City Attorney’s Office began in September of 2014 when Elizabeth joined our Office as a Legal Administrative Assistant, primarily focusing on providing support to attorneys in the Law and Motion, Writs and Appeals Unit of the Litigation Division. During the assignment as a Legal Administrative Assistant, Elizabeth worked on highly sensitive and fast–paced matters such as the Negotiated Settlement Agreement in Delphine Allen v. City of Oakland and most recently the unhoused residents’ law suits seeking temporary restraining orders against the City of Oakland.
