Hans I. Moore joined the Oakland City Attorney’s Office in June 2022. Mr.Moore is a Deputy City Attorney assigned to the General and Complex Litigation Unit.
Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Moore was an Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office where he investigated and prosecuted cases involving officer involved shootings, in–custody deaths, and excessive use of force. Before joining the District Attorney’s Office, Mr.Moore was a Senior Staff Attorney for Public Advocate’s Education Equity team advocating on behalf of low–income and immigrant communities.
In 2016, Mr. Moore moved to California from Maryland where was a prosecutor in the Montgomery County State’s Attorneys’ Office where he tried serious felonies such as attempted murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Mr. Moore has a B.A. in Criminology & Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Maryland and received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore. Mr. Moore teaches Legal Ethics at the Berkeley School of Law
