Jamie Renee Smith serves as the Executive Assistant to the City Attorney. She is responsible for providing executive level administrative support to the City Attorney, Assistant City Attorneys and City Attorney staff.
Ms. Smith joined the City of Oakland in January 1983 and joined the Office of the City Attorney in 1985, serving as an Office Aide, Legal Secretary, and Executive Assistant to the City Attorney.
Family responsibilities required Ms. Smith to return to the city of Stockton, where she served as the church secretary and administrative assistant to the Senior Pastor at Progressive Community Church of Stockton, California, where she provided support to ministerial staff, church members,
and community members.
In September 2012, Ms. Smith returned to the Office of the City Attorney, where she continues to serve.
Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Holy Names University and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies from Vista Community College (now Berkeley City College). She is a native of Stockton, California, but fondly calls Oakland her “hometown”.
