Lorena Matei is a Senior Deputy City Attorney in the General & Complex Litigation Division (Defense). She represents the City in a variety of cases including personal injury, wrongful death, property rights and employment. Before joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Matei was a Deputy City Attorney with the City of Berkeley, where she litigated tort matter, defended the City and its employees, and advised and worked with City departments regarding risk management. Ms. Matei has handled personal injury actions throughout her career, in addition to professional liability and landlord tenant disputes.
