Naree Chan is a Deputy City Attorney in the Real Estate Unit of the Advisory Division. Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office in 2019, Mrs. Chan practiced municipal law at Meyers Nave in Oakland, where she advised on a wide variety of municipal, land use, and real estate matters, including the California Voting Rights Act, transient occupancy taxes, land use entitlements for commercial and mixed–use residential development projects, and inclusionary affordable housing programs. Before practicing law in California, she served the Denver City Attorney’s Office at the Denver International Airport and advised public and private entities on airport and environmental law in the Boston area with Anderson & Kreiger.

Mrs. Chan graduated from Stanford University and received her law degree from University of Colorado Law School, where she served as Managing Editor of the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law & Policy. She is licensed to practice law in California, Colorado, and Massachusetts.
